YARRIS CAMPAIGN POSTS MASSIVE FUNDRAISING HAUL, OUTRAISING INCUMBENT KEVIN BYRNE NEARLY 9-TO-1
Grassroots surge signals a county ready for change
PUTNAM COUNTY, NY - The campaign to elect Brett Yarris as Putnam County Executive announced today that it raised $92,771.14 in the most recent filing period, nearly nine times the $11,185.00 reported by incumbent Kevin Byrne, a gap the campaign says reflects growing momentum behind Yarris’ campaign to bring new leadership and a bold vision to Putnam County.
The haul was powered by 284 individual contributions, with 25% coming from donors giving under $100. Byrne reported no small donations.
"This isn't about money, it's about regular Putnam citizens who are done with this county’s managed decline and are ready to invest in our future: community college, workforce housing, good jobs.” said Brett Yarris, “We're not just running to win an election; we're running to prove what this county can be."
The campaign also reported more than $60,000 cash on hand, providing the resources to continue building a countywide grassroots campaign focused on creating opportunity, protecting Putnam’s character, and investing in the county’s future.
Yarris framed the numbers as evidence of enthusiasm that money alone can't manufacture, “People from every corner of our county - Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Conservatives, Libertarians, and Working Families in a broad coalition - are stepping up because they know we need leadership with a vision for the future.”
